Abstract:With the changes of lifestyles and diets, the prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is increasing. NAFLD has become one of the most common chronic liver diseases in China, and it is also a serious global health problem. In recent years, a large number of studies have investigated the correlation between NAFLD and cardiovascular disease (CVD), and found that NAFLD is associated with the occurrence and development of CVD, which is an important cause of increased CVD mortality. Therefore, this article reviews the research progress on the co-pathogenesis of NAFLD and CVD.
